The Recorder of Deeds Office administers the oath of office and records your notary bond and commission. The bond must be completed before arriving to our office. We will record the documents immediately and then issue your commission and wallet card. The charge is $40.00. We will accept cash, check or credit card. Our hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. From our office, you will proceed to the Prothonotary’s Office to register your signature. The fee is $5.00. Note: They do not accept personal checks for payment.
If during your commission you have an address change, you are required to notify the Commonwealth within 30 days of the address change. If the new office is in a different county, you must register your signature at the Prothonotary's Office of the new county within 30 days of moving in to the new county.
Name changes require you to notify the Commonwealth and the Recorder of Deeds of the county where the notary public maintains an office and register your new signature with the Prothonotary’s Office.
