History of the Keystone Marker Trust
Start Date:
Saturday, July 8, 2023
End Date:
Saturday, July 8, 2023
Start Time:
11:00 AM
Jack Graham, a founding member of the Keystone Marker Trust, will discuss the history of the “Keystone Markers” of Pennsylvania. Dotting Pennsylvania, the Keystone Markers are keystone shaped cast iron town and stream name signs that were erected along the roadsides of the Commonwealth almost a hundred years ago by the former state Dept. of Highways. Graham will also highlight the work of The Keystone Marker Trust, a very small, all volunteer, non-profit group with an unfathomable attraction to these iron signs. Trust volunteers work to document all of the markers that still are, or once were, and to repair and restore those that remain, often working with local governments, historical groups, or individual volunteers.
