911 Communications Branch

The 911 Communications Branch of the Berks County Department of Emergency Services is responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls for service from Berks County residents, visitors, and transient populations and subsequently dispatching first responders and other resources to their requests for assistance.  Served by over 80 telecommunicators, supervisors, and support staff, the 911 center answers approximately 800 emergency calls per day and dispatches over 470 police details and 180 fire and EMS assignments daily.
