Inspections of ACE

All Farms with an agricultural conservation easement are inspected at least every other year to assure compliance with the Deed of Agricultural Conservation Easement.

Inspection notices are mailed mail at least 10 days prior to the date of inspection. This notice informs the landowner of the day and approximate time the inspection will take place. The inspections will occur between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. They can be rescheduled at the request of the landowner.

It is not required that the landowner be present for the inspection. However, the attendance of the landowner or farm operator is recommended because it provides a more complete insight into the dynamics of the farm. It is also a good opportunity for the landowner or operator to ask questions about the program.

An inspection report is mailed to the landowner and the Pennsylvania State Agricultural Land Preservation Board after an inspection has been completed.
